We've moved to the foot of Canal Street and the Mississippi River. We are on the riverfront for 2008, shifting a few blocks away from the saucy Bourbon Street experience we chose for 2007, we are now just four blocks up Rue de Iberville. Not to worry, the jazz and blues clubs dot every block in between! In a classic New Orleans attitude, we have a more sophisticated address now but we didn't leave the rhythm and groove much past the last corner!

Tourism, Shopping and History 

Canal Street at the river, what was the hub of the river traffic industry for 300 years of trade and warehousing is now a robust tourism, shopping and entertainment nexus. Explore the warehouse district restaurants now an easy couple of blocks away, or seek out a bistro or snack in the market. Head uptown or to midcity, three different streetcar lines come together here. The relaxed pedestrian promenade of Waldenberg Park, the Aquarium, Harrah's and the French Quarter beckons from across Decatur Street on one side. You are within a couple of blocks of everything that makes New Orleans exciting and a historic center of cultural history.  

Westin New Orleans is a luxury business class hotel located overlooking on the river. The Shops at Canal Place are just the elevator ride away from your room, including familiar names like Saks, Brooks Brothers and Pottery Barn. Yet mixed inbetween are delightful local treasures such as Mignon Faget, or quirky local art and jewelry shops all lined up inside near the food court, theaters and the doorway to the French Quarter.

Westin New Orleans is finishing a total renovation and upgrade from the previous designation as a Wyndham brand hotel, polishing everything with the famous special features found in Westin fine hotels worldwide. The official Westin opening is in December 2007.
